Orville Blose was a world adventurer, visiting over 80 different countries and traveling more than a half a million miles in 75 years. Orville Blose was also an Education Specialist in a civilian capacity as Director of the Navy Consolidated Schools at Treasure Island and Navy Campus for Achievement at the Naval Air Station in Alameda until his third and final retirement in 1982. Navy and continued his service in the Naval Reserve until his retirement as LCdr. Blose served actively during World War II in the U.S. He was also a Principal for the Oakland Unified School District at Allendale and Emerson that led to his retirement in 1968. He was a Vice-Principal for the San Lorenzo School District at Village School and Principal at Fairmont School. He also taught evening classes at Fremont and Technical High Schools. Orville Blose was a teacher in Oakland at Elmhurst, McChesney and Frick Junior Highs. He also held California Life Teaching Credentials in elementary, secondary and administration. Blose was born in Corning, CA and graduated from Washington Union High School in Centerville, earned both AB and MA degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. In Alameda, November 26, 2005, age 92, Orville Blose, a native of California, is survived by his loving wife, Rayoal, of 54 years and son, Curtis of Alameda nephew, Billy Ryan of Simpsonville, KY and niece, Susan Ryan of Louisville, KY niece, Miriam Dearstine of Las Vegas, NV niece, Barbara Carlson of Sonoma and nephew, Daryl Hofstede of Martinez.
